Tim Dodge

Tim Dodge has been employed at Auburn University
Libraries since 1992 and is currently serving as History and
Political Science Subject Specialist in the Reference
Department. Previous positions include Special Collections
Librarian and Archivist at the University of New Hampshire
and Serials and Reference Librarian at Barry University
(Miami, Fla.).
Tim has been a SELA member since 1992 and an active
member since 1999 serving in offices such as Chair of the
University and College Section, Chair of the Government
Documents Roundtable, Chair of the Intellectual Freedom
Committee, Chair of the Membership and Mentoring Committee,
and has served as the Alabama State Representative. Tim has
been active in other library associations. A partial list of
offices includes President of the Alabama Library
Association (2004-2005), President of the Alabama
Association of College and Research Libraries (2000-2001 and
2009-2010), and Coordinator of the Federal Documents Task
Force of the Government Documents Roundtable of the American
Library Association (2014-2015).
Education: Ph.D. in History from the University of
New Hampshire (1992); M.A. in History from the University of
New Hampshire (1982); M.L.S. from Columbia University
(1980); and a B.A. in History from Swarthmore College
(1979).
Fun Fact: Tim has served as a disk jockey on four radio
stations since Fall 1975. Most recently, he has been
broadcasting the Golden Oldies program under the name Dr.
Hepcat on WEGL - Auburn, Ala. since May 1998.
